Wildflowers July 21-23rd, 2001

Found blooming at McFarland Lake, Pine Lake, Little John Lake and the Border Route Trail by Erik W. L. Anderson. 

We were pleased to find a beautiful harvest of plump juicy raspberries.  We also found a few ripe thimbleberries, bunchberries, and blackberries.

We also enjoyed the large number of butterflies and moths of a full range of colors.  (Be sure to check out the past reports linked at the right as well!)

Flowers we saw blooming:

Clover, Red ssp.

Cow-Parsnip - Heracleum maximum

Water Parsnip, Sium suave

Daisy , Ox-eye- Chrysanthemum leucanthemum  

Vetch , Purple- Vicia americana

Clover, Hop - Trifolium agratium

Pineapple Weed - Matricaria matricaarioides

Yarrow - Achillea lanulosa

Fireweed - Epilobium angustifolium

Black-eyed Susan - Rudbeckia serotina

Primrose, Common Evening - Oenothera biennis

Trefoil, Birdfoot - Lotus corniculatus 

Common Sow Thistle - Sonchus oleraceus*

Thistle, Canada - Cirsium arvense*

Bush Honeysuckle -  Diervilla lonicera
