Wildflowers September 13, 2000

Found blooming in Cook County by Lorraine Anderson -

This is the last report for this year.  There are no new flowers and
the ones blooming are becoming scarcer and scarcer.  Hope you enjoyed these reports.  Let me know! Maybe see you next spring!

Roads traveled: #7, #45, Murmer Creek Road (FS 332), FS 333, Pike Lake
Road, N. Pike Lake Road, Cascade River Road, Bally Creek Road, Gunflint Trail.

Flowers seen blooming:

pearly everlasting (Anaphalis margaritacea)
goldenrod (Solidago)
aster - purple, white (Aster)
black-eyed-susan (Rudbeckia hirta)
mayweed (Anthemis cotula)
buttercup, common (Ranunculus acris)
tansy (Tanacetum vulgare)
daisy fleabane (Erigeron annuus)
hawkweed - orange & yellow (Hieracium)
yarrow (Achillea millefolium)
birdsfoot trefoil (Lotus corniculatus)
eyebright (Euphrasia americana)
heal-all, selfheal (Prunella vulgaris)
bull thistle (Cirsium vulgare)
ox-eye daisy (Chrysanthemum leucanthemum)
sow thistle, common (Sonchus oleraceus)
butter & eggs, toadflax (Linaria vulgaris)
