Boundary Waters named by USA Today as one of the Top Ten Places to Extend the Summer

Misty Morning

The cadent call of the whippoorwill
echoes across the waters still,
The lonely cry of the loon
cries beneath the fading moon.

Outside, a flutter of wings,
the little chickadee sings.
A tent opens with a zip
as dew drops fall, drip, drip, drip.

The morning campfire begins with a crackle,
the stark black raven awakens with a cackle.

A new dawn, a new day
nature's words a spoken in the B.W.C.A.
