Crane Lake is located 28 miles northeast of Orr, MN. The small resort community is a popular entry point into both Voyageurs National Park and the Boundary Waters Canoe Area (BWCA), making it a great destination for boating, canoeing, snowmobiling, and fishing.  Crane Lake is part of the Namakan Reservoir, which also includes Kabetogama, Little Vermilion, Namakan and Sand Point lakes. The area is home to many game fish and pan fish, including Walleye, Northern Pike, Bass, Sauger, Bluegill, Crappie, Sturgeon, Whitefish, and Perch.

Crane Lake is also a U.S. Customs port for seaplane traffic.
